Export your memory from Grok
Grok has a dedicated settings page for reviewing exactly what it's learned about you.
Open Grok's memory settings
On Grok Web, open the menu → Settings → Data Controls → Memory. You'll see the individual memories Grok has stored, with the option to review or delete each one.
Copy what's listed
Copy the memories shown there as your portable profile. This feature is still rolling out region by region and marked beta by xAI, so what you see may be incomplete.

Grok's memory feature is still in beta as of the most recent reporting — the exact settings path may shift as it stabilizes. We couldn't confirm a way to import memory into Grok from elsewhere yet, so this is an export-only guide for now.
Import memory into ChatGPT
ChatGPT has no dedicated import tool, but its memory feature explicitly saves anything you ask it to remember — so a direct request does the job.
Make sure Memory is turned on
In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Personalization → Memory, and confirm it's enabled.
Paste your profile and ask ChatGPT to remember it
In a new chat, paste this prompt with your memory profile in place of the bracketed instruction.
I'm sharing a structured profile of facts, preferences, and context about me that I'd like you to remember going forward. Please save each distinct item below as its own individual memory — don't collapse them into one summary note, save them separately so each can be recalled on its own. After you've done that, list back exactly what you saved so I can confirm nothing was missed or altered. [paste your memory profile here]
Confirm what was actually saved
Check Settings → Personalization → Memory → Manage memories afterward — that's the real source of truth for what got saved, not just what ChatGPT says back in the chat.

This documents how ChatGPT's memory feature works in general — it isn't a guide specific to migrating from another AI service, since no such guide currently exists.
